Softball Recap: Bloomington Bobcats/Lady Cats vs. Louise Hornets
Bloomington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 21-4 to the Louise Hornets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bobcats/Lady Cats of the 22-15 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Bloomington saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Geneva McKinney, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave McKinney a new career-high in RBI (two). Mariah Liserio also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Even though they lost, Bloomington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Bloomington's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Louise, they moved to 1-4 with that victory, which also ended their seven-game losing streak.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bloomington will venture away from home to face off against Schulenburg at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bloomington has given up an average of 19.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Louise, they are taking a road trip to take on Moulton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
