Volleyball Recap: High Point Christian Academy Falls to Gaston Christian in First Game of Season

High Point Christian Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Gaston Christian Eagles by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2016.

High Point Christian Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-20, 15-10.

Gaston Christian has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, High Point Christian Academy will take on St. David's in a tournament on Friday. As for Gaston Christian, they will challenge Caldwell Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
