Baseball Recap: Ruskin Comes Up Short

Ruskin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 28th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 10-1 to the Raytown South Cardinals. The Golden Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Cardinals from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Ruskin saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Donald Finley, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Ruskin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Raytown South, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ruskin will host Lafayette at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Fighting Irish will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Golden Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Raytown South, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Pembroke Hill at 4:00 p.m.
