Basketball Game Preview: West Fork Gators vs. Pasadena Eagles

The West Fork Gators will take on the Pasadena Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. West Fork is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Last Friday, West Fork ended up a good deal behind Kingwood Park and lost 56-41.

Meanwhile, Pasadena had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Lutheran South Academy by a score of 43-36 on Saturday.

West Fork better keep an eye on Emily De La Garza. She was instrumental in Pasadena's win, putting up 29 points and seven steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which De La Garza has scored at least a third of Pasadena's points. Another player making a difference was Lianna Garcia, who posted three points in addition to eight rebounds and four blocks.

Pasadena smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 12 consecutive matchups.

Pasadena's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-14. As for West Fork, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.
