Volleyball Recap: Gilbert Christian Falls Short Against Ranked Chaparral

Gilbert Christian faced Chaparral in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Knights fell 2-0 to the Firebirds. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Firebirds when the teams met back in September of 2016, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lillie Duitsman paced Gilbert Christian's offense, picking up five kills. Duitsman got some help from Sidney Loth and her 15 assists.

Gilbert Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 18-3. As for Chaparral, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 21-1.

Coincidentally, Gilbert Christian and Chaparral will both be playing Notre Dame Prep the next time they take the court. The Knights will head out to face the Saints at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Firebirds will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
