Baseball Recap: Chenango Valley Takes a Loss

Chenango Valley had lost three straight at home, but on Monday they dropped down to 7-11 to make it four. They came up short against the Oneonta Yellowjackets, falling 12-0. The Warriors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Yellowjackets from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

As for Oneonta, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games.

For Oneonta's part, Nolan Stark made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Stark has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Oneonta got a massive performance out of Britten Zeh, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Zeh a new career-high. Nate Woytak also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Coming up, Chenango Valley will square off against Windsor Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oneonta, they will challenge Unatego at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
