Football Recap: Lakeland Starts Season with Loss at Home + How To Watch

Lakeland unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 41-14 loss at the hands of the St. Maries Lumberjacks. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lumberjacks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2021.

St. Maries can attribute much of their success to Jack Barta, who threw for 214 yards and three TDs while completing 72.2% of his passes.

Lakeland didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 41-0 victory against Bonners Ferry on the 23rd. As for St. Maries, they will square off against Salmon at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
