Basketball Recap: Coral Springs Takes a Loss

Coral Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 73-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Coral Glades Jaguars. The Colts were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Coral Glades' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kyler Theophile led the charge by going 6 of 9 on his way to 18 points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Reed, who went 5 for 9 en route to 15 points and six rebounds.

Coral Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Coral Glades, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-6.

Coral Springs wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, an 80-61 victory against Central Florida Christian Academy on the 25th. As for Coral Glades, they will be taking part in a tournament against Pembroke Pines Charter at 8:30 p.m. on January 30th. Coral Glades is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 71.4 points per game this season.
