Basketball Recap: China Spring Comes Up Short

China Spring suffered their biggest defeat since January 12, 2024 on Tuesday. They were outmatched by the La Vega Pirates and fell 90-41. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

La Vega got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Angela Carroll out in front who went 10 of 15 en route to 25 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That's the most points Carroll has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Alaysia Gude, who went 7 of 15 on her way to 17 points and six steals.

China Spring's loss dropped their record down to 14-11. As for La Vega, they pushed their record up to 19-6 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

China Spring will host Gatesville at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for La Vega, they will venture away from home to take on Robinson at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. La Vega is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.8 points per game this season.
