Basketball Recap: Chatham Charter Takes a Loss

Chatham Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 39-32 to the Asheboro Blue Comets.

Despite the loss, Chatham Charter saw an underclassman step up: freshman Peyton York posted 11 points.

Asheboro's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Laneane F Scherer, who had 12 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance also gave F Scherer a new career-high in assists (three). Adalynn Scherer was another key player, putting up eight points and ten rebounds.

Chatham Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Asheboro, their victory bumped their record up to 3-7.

Chatham Charter wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-14 loss against Trinity on the 28th. As for Asheboro, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 51-15 defeat against Eastern Guilford on the 28th.
