Lake City has gone 8-2 against Post Falls recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Timberwolves will head out on the road to take on the Trojans at 12:00 p.m.

Lake City is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Sandpoint just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Timberwolves have suffered since April 13, 2024.

Lake City got a good showing from Maverick Lanigan, who pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Lanigan has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mark Holecek was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Kyle Johnson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Meanwhile, Post Falls can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. Neither they nor Coeur d'Alene could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 6-6 tie.

Post Falls' tie gives them a new season record of 4-7-1. As for Lake City, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.

Lake City took their victory against Post Falls in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 8-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Timberwolves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
