Huntington Park hasn't had much luck against Garfield recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Huntington Park Spartans will host the Garfield Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Huntington Park will bounce into Friday's game after beating South Gate, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Huntington Park secured a 42-37 W over South Gate on Wednesday. The 42-point effort marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Garfield had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They took down the Jaguars 47-33.

Huntington Park's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Garfield, they are also on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which somehow still isn't as good as their 16-5 record this season.
