Volleyball Game Preview: Williamstown Braves vs. Pinelands Regional Wildcats

Williamstown is a perfect 3-0 against Pinelands Regional since October of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Braves are taking a road trip to challenge the Wildcats at 5:15 p.m. Williamstown will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Williamstown is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Jersey's top teams: Washington Township, who was ranked 24th at the time (Williamstown was ranked first). The Braves walked away with a 2-0 win over the Minutemen on Monday.

Meanwhile, Pinelands Regional earned a 2-0 victory over Middletown South on Thursday.

Pinelands Regional never let Middletown South on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 26-24.

Pinelands Regional's win came from a few key players Williamstown will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Madison Wilbert, who had ten kills, seven digs, and one block. Heidi Cyphert was another key player, getting seven kills, four digs, three aces, and one block.

Williamstown's record is now 20-0. As for Pinelands Regional, their record now sits at 19-2.

Williamstown was able to grind out a solid win over Pinelands Regional in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, winning 2-0. Will the Braves repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
