A well-balanced attack led SouthWest Edgecombe over North Pitt in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars blew the North Pitt Panthers out of the water with a 70-42 final score. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Panthers are ranked 404th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

SouthWest Edgecombe was led to victory by Alijah Lassiter and Zy Thigpen. Lassiter went 9 of 11 on his way to 20 points, while Thigpen went 7 for 14 on his way to 18 points and three steals. The game was Thigpen's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Xander Brown, who posted ten points.
