The Downers Grove North Trojans scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 74-13 victory over Oak Park-River Forest. Downers Grove North might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four contests by 25 points or more this season.
Downers Grove North found their leader in underclassman Ady Fanta, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. Fanta also scored 15+ points for the first time this season. Kaitlyn Parker was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
When it comes to explaining why Oak Park-River Forest lost, one person who can't be blamed is Shardae Spruille. Despite the final result, she scored five points.
Downers Grove North pushed their record up to 8-2 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Oak Park-River Forest, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Downers Grove North will head out on the road to face off against Hinsdale Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hinsdale Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while Downers Grove North is ranked 43rd). As for Oak Park-River Forest, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Regina Dominican at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Regina Dominican focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Saturday.
