Soccer Recap: North Surry Finds Playoff Glory Versus Mount Pleasant

It's playoff time, and North Surry had no trouble coming through when it counted. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Greyhounds who were credited with the win on Tuesday. Their winning goal came courtesy of Anna Escobar.

The victory (which was North Surry's third in a row) raised their record to 11-5-4. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for Mount Pleasant, they dropped their record down to 10-7-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, North Surry will face off against Newton-Conover at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. North Surry's defense better be ready for this one: Newton-Conover have averaged an impressive 3.1 goals per game this season. Mount Pleasant does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
