Softball Recap: Harrisburg Comes Up Short

Harrisburg extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 14 on Friday, dropping their season record down to 0-8 in the process. They came up short against the Camp Hill Lions, falling 16-0. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2022.

As for Camp Hill, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 12 runs or more this season.

For Camp Hill's part, Lindsay Oyster made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Oyster has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Camp Hill got a massive performance out of Lindsay Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was Johnson's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Haley Kessel, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

While Harrisburg had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
