Recap: Orestimba Warriors vs. Liberty Ranch Hawks
The Orestimba Warriors had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.3 points), and they went ahead and made it 11 on Saturday. They walked away with a 62-50 victory over Liberty Ranch. Given Orestimba's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 390th, while Liberty Ranch is ranked 817th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Blake Melo, who scored 14 points along with six steals and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Marin dominguez, who scored 11 points along with two blocks.
Despite the loss, Liberty Ranch still got an impressive performance from Elliott Hawker, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hawker has scored all season. Ryan Martin was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Orestimba pushed their record up to 16-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Liberty Ranch, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.
Orestimba on the road again on Tuesday and play against Mariposa County at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. As for Liberty Ranch, they will be playing at home against El Dorado at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. El Dorado has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 180 points over their last three matches.
