Basketball Recap: Five Straight Home Wins for St. Andrew's Episcopal

St. Andrew's Episcopal waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Don Bosco Prep Ironmen, sneaking past 56-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted since February 13th.

St. Andrew's Episcopal's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.6 points per game. As for Don Bosco Prep, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Andrew's Episcopal will take on St. John's at 7:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Don Bosco Prep will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Rutgers Prep at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Rutgers Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Don Bosco Prep likes a good challenge.
