Basketball Recap: Pocomoke Takes a Loss

Pocomoke lost against Cambridge-South Dorchester back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pocomoke Warriors lost to the Cambridge-South Dorchester Vikings on the road by a 44-30 margin. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Pocomoke still got an impressive performance from Donyae Washington, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 15 rebounds. Washington has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more boards the last 40 times she's played. Alayah Thornton was another key player, putting up seven points.

Cambridge-South Dorchester had a senior duo take command as Le'Asia Todd dropped a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds and Tejanae Ballin went 5-for-8 en route to 14 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Destiny Johnson, who posted five points.

Pocomoke's record is now 6-12. As for Cambridge-South Dorchester, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Coming up, Pocomoke will challenge Nandua at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cambridge-South Dorchester, they have already played their next match, a 62-22 victory against Colonel Richardson on the 14th.
