Soccer Recap: Pana Comes Up Short

Pana was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Athens/PORTA Warriors, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Pana can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 311th, while Athens/PORTA are ranked 135th).

Pana's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10-1. As for Athens/PORTA, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5.

Coming up, Pana will take on Auburn at 12:00 p.m. on the 17th. As for Athens/PORTA, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next matchup, a 7-0 win against Warrensburg-Latham/Maroa-Forsyth on the 9th.
