Softball Recap: San Marcos Comes Up Short

San Marcos came into this matchup off a tough nine-run defeat on Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Del Norte Nighthawks by a score of 6-4 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Knights have suffered against the Nighthawks since May 10, 2022.

Addie Taufa was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and three RBI. Emily Lew was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for San Marcos and nudges their season record down to 11-9. As for Del Norte, their record is now 11-8-1.

Looking ahead, San Marcos will challenge Great Oak at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wolfpack will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for Del Norte, they will head out to challenge San Pasqual at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Nighthawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
