Basketball Game Preview: Fort Sumner/House vs. Tucumcari Rattlers

Fort Sumner/House will head out to challenge the Tucumcari Rattlers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Fort Sumner/House is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Grady: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Fort Sumner/House blew Grady out of the water with a 67-22 final score. Fort Sumner/House has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Tucumcari was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a hard 73-58 fall against Santa Rosa. While losing is never fun, the Rattlers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Lions are ranked 21st).

Tucumcari's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Fort Sumner/House, their win bumped their record up to 15-3.

Fort Sumner/House beat Tucumcari 58-46 when the teams last played back in January of 2017. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fort Sumner/House since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
