Basketball Recap: Iowa Colony Now 7-2 over Last Nine Games

After losing to Angleton the last time they met, Iowa Colony decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Iowa Colony Pioneers walked away with a 69-62 win over the Angleton Wildcats on Friday. Given the Pioneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Wildcats are ranked 470th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Angleton lost, don't look at Noah Rossow. Despite the final result, he went 8 for 10 on his way to 20 points. The dominant performance gave Rossow a new career-high in points. Braydon Campbell was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Iowa Colony has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Angleton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-11.

Iowa Colony wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 95-58 victory against Concordia Lutheran on the 27th. As for Angleton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-64 win against Alief Elsik on the 27th.
