Softball Recap: Pebble Hills' Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Socorro, Pebble Hills was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 10-5 win over the Eastlake Falcons. This was a revenge game for the Spartans: when they faced off against the Falcons back in March, they had to take a 16-5 loss.

Desiree Beard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Pebble Hills got a massive performance out of Syan Saldana, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits Saldana has posted since back in February. Madison Dela Cruz was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one home run and two runs.

Pebble Hills hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eastlake struck out ten times.

With the victory, Pebble Hills broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 13-20. As for Eastlake, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 21-12 record this season.

Pebble Hills didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 17-2 win against Franklin on the 17th. As for Eastlake, they have also already played their next match, a 19-0 victory against Coronado on the 17th.
