Baseball Game Preview: Excelsior Springs Tigers vs. Grandview Bulldogs

The Excelsior Springs Tigers will head out to challenge the Grandview Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Grandview took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Excelsior Springs, who comes in off a win.

Excelsior Springs barely beat Winnetonka the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Griffins on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Wednesday. Grandview came up short against Kearney, falling 13-0. Grandview has struggled against Kearney recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Grandview now has a losing record of 10-11-2. As for Excelsior Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

Everything went Excelsior Springs' way against Grandview in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Excelsior Springs made off with an 18-5 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
