Basketball Recap: Juan Castillo's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sonora over Harper

Sonora suffered their biggest defeat since February 9th on Saturday. They came up short against the Harper Longhorns, falling 49-29. The contest marked the Broncos' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Several Broncos players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Juan Castillo, who posted 11 points and six rebounds. Castillo has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Evan Arredondo, who had seven points.

Sonora now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Harper, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-11.

Sonora will head out to square off against Sterling City at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Sonora is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50 points per game this season. As for Harper, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-45 win against Grape Creek on the 28th.
