Volleyball Recap: North Putnam Takes a Loss

North Putnam was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Western Boone Stars. The Cougars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Stars from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

North Putnam started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 21-25, 19-25, 27-25, 25-13, 15-13.

Tori Detro paced North Putnam's offense, picking up eight kills. Detro got some help from Hailee Daigle and her 17 assists. Cora Stacks controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

North Putnam's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Western Boone, the victory (which was their ninth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 2-0.

North Putnam has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Bethesda Christian on the 23rd. As for Western Boone, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Logansport on the 23rd.
