Basketball Game Preview: New Deal Lions vs. Ozona Lions

We've got a battle between Lions coming up. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

New Deal is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Wellington, sneaking past 54-51. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lions have posted since December 5, 2024.

Meanwhile, Ozona came tearing into Thursday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points), and they left with even more momentum. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Cowboys 43-40.

Ozona pushed their record up to 28-7 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.7 points over those games. As for New Deal, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-12 record this season.
