Baseball Game Preview: Murrieta Valley Nighthawks vs. Temecula Valley Golden Bears

For the second straight game, Murrieta Valley will face off against Temecula Valley. The Nighthawks will welcome the Golden Bears at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Monday, Murrieta Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Temecula Valley and fell 6-5.

Murrieta Valley got a good showing from Brody Valle, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave Valle a new career-low in walks (zero).

On the hitting side, Murrieta Valley saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Kujawa, who went 2-for-3 with two runs. Kujawa is becoming a predictor of the Nighthawks' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 4-17 when he doesn't). Wes Gomes was another, going 1-for-4 with three RBI.

Temecula Valley's victory bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Murrieta Valley, they dropped their record down to 7-18 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
