Basketball Game Preview: Oakwood Christian Eagles vs. Unity Christian Lions

Oakwood Christian is 2-8 against Unity Christian since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Oakwood Christian Eagles will head out to take on the Unity Christian Lions at 5:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Oakwood Christian comes in on four and Unity Christian on five.

Last Saturday, Oakwood Christian humbled Praise Academy with a 53-25 victory. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 22 points or more this season.

Unity Christian meant business on Saturday, getting buckets from all over the court against a Eagles squad that has allowed just 25.76 points per contest. Unity Christian managed a 58-53 victory over Cornerstone Christian. The win was all the more spectacular given the Lions' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 378th in Georgia, while the Eagles are ranked 96th in Alabama).

Unity Christian has also been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Oakwood Christian, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-7.

Oakwood Christian ended up a good deal behind Unity Christian in their previous matchup last Friday, losing 48-34. Can Oakwood Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
