Basketball Recap: Green Sea Floyds Takes a Loss

Green Sea Floyds played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Carvers Bay Bears, falling 50-11. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Bears: they've now lost six in a row.

Shantavia Hilliard was Green Sea Floyds' leading scorer, having posted five points. Tanisha Myers took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Carvers Bay's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jurnee Blye led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Blye is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. D'Essence Graham was another key player, putting up nine points and five steals.

Green Sea Floyds' defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Carvers Bay, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 19-3.

Green Sea Floyds will be playing in front of their home fans against Hannah-Pamplico at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Carvers Bay, they will head out on the road to take on Hemingway at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
