After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Johnson County Central, Conestoga was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Falls City Tigers 3-2. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Conestoga took Falls City into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 20-25, 21-25, 25-13, 15-10.

Maggie Fiene paced Conestoga's offense, picking up 13 kills. Fiene got some help from Ayla Garrett and her 23 assists. Fiene also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Mylie Crook, each putting up four.

Conestoga's victory ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 14-8. As for Falls City, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

Conestoga will take on Osceola at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Falls City, they will challenge Pawnee City at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
