Baseball Recap: Homer Trojans vs. Marcellus Mustangs
Homer had lost four straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 2-10 to make it five. They fell 8-5 to the Marcellus Mustangs. Trojans fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Mustangs since on Friday.
As for Marcellus, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-11. The game was the first time they have beaten Homer on their field since May 15, 2015.
For Marcellus' part, Gavin Foy was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI. Those three doubles gave Foy a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Loveless, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Coming up, Homer will square off against Dryden at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Marcellus, they will face off against Chittenango at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
