Volleyball Game Preview: Dublin Gaels vs. Castro Valley Trojans

The Dublin Gaels will take on the Castro Valley Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The last four games Dublin has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Thursday, Dublin didn't have quite enough to beat Granada and fell 3-2. The Gaels have struggled against the Matadors recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Dublin started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 20-25, 25-21, 29-27, 15-12.

Meanwhile, Castro Valley suffered their biggest defeat since February 28th on Thursday. They came up short against San Leandro, falling 3-0.

Castro Valley was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-22, 25-20.

Castro Valley's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-9. As for Dublin, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-5.
