Basketball Recap: Josey Takes a Loss

Josey played a tough matchup on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Laney Wildcats, falling 62-33. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 429th, while the Wildcats are ranked 75th).

Josey's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Laney, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Josey will challenge Washington-Wilkes at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Josey is facing Washington-Wilkes at the right time seeing as Washington-Wilkes is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Laney, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Thomson at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
