Baseball Game Preview: Northwood Timberwolves vs. Laguna Hills Hawks

The Northwood Timberwolves will head out on the road to square off against the Laguna Hills Hawks at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwood's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Laguna Hills' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Northwood is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Loara. Northwood's victory was all the more impressive since the Saxons were averaging only two runs allowed on the season.

Laguna Hills came out on top against Tahquitz on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Hawks walked away with a 6-2 win over the Titans.

The team relied heavily on Jake Kahl, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Damian Youngman, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Northwood is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-15-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Laguna Hills, their win bumped their record up to 15-13.
