Basketball Recap: Jefferson Takes a Loss

Jefferson lost against King back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Jefferson Dragons fell to the King Lions 70-65. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (60), the Dragons still had to take the loss.

It was another big night for Nuri Hakim, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 13 boards for King. The dominant performance also gave Hakim a new career-high in steals (four). Rodney Smith was another key player, going 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Jefferson is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-22. As for King, they moved to 4-20 with that victory, which also ended their 12-game losing streak.

Jefferson has already played their next match (against Robinson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the King Lions challenge the Middleton Tigers at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
