Loyola Academy had already won 20 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.8 points) and they went ahead and made it 21 on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 72-44 win over the Mother McAuley Mighty Macs. Given the Ramblers' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Mighty Macs are ranked 52nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Mighty Macs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Olivia Brown, who posted six points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Katherine Sexton, who put up eight points.

Loyola Academy's victory was their 31st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 27-2. As for Mother McAuley, their loss dropped their record down to 16-11.

Loyola Academy will venture away from home to take on Providence Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Providence Catholic will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Loyola Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mother McAuley, they will face off against Montini Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mother McAuley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.7 points per game this season.
