Michigan Math & Science's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-5. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.7 points over those games. As for Merritt Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.

Everything went Michigan Math & Science's way against Merritt Academy in their previous meeting back in January, as Michigan Math & Science made off with a 61-37 win.
