Basketball Recap: North Broward Prep Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact North Broward Prep can now relate to. They fell 54-41 to the Saint Andrew's Scots on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-45 two weeks ago.

Saint Andrew's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brendan Gerard, who posted ten points along with five assists and three steals. Gerard has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Alex Montes, who went 7 for 14 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds.

North Broward Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 13-13. As for Saint Andrew's, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 24-2.

North Broward Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Saint Andrew's, they are taking a road trip to challenge Calvary Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Calvary Christian Academy has won five straight at home, while Saint Andrew's won six straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
