Basketball Recap: Salem Comes Up Short

Salem's tournament run continued when they took on McGill-Toolen on Friday. The Salem Seminoles were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 52-51 to the McGill-Toolen Yellowjackets. While losing is never fun, the Seminoles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 236th in Georgia, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 71st in Alabama).

This is the second loss in a row for Salem and nudges their season record down to 6-8. As for McGill-Toolen, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.

Salem has already played their next contest, a 79-57 win against Cottage Hill Christian Academy on the 28th. As for McGill-Toolen, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-50 victory against St. Paul's Episcopal on the 28th.
