Volleyball Recap: Fike Comes Up Short

Fike lost against Wake Prep Academy last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Golden Demons lost 3-0 to the Guardians. The match marked the first time this year in which the Golden Demons were not able to get on the board.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-21, 25-14.

Wake Prep Academy found their leader in freshman Harper Maxwell, who had 16 assists and two aces. Maxwell is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season.

Fike's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Wake Prep Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Coming up, Fike will head out on the road to challenge Rocky Mount at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give the Golden Demons their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Wake Prep Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Washington County at 6:45 p.m. on Monday.
