Basketball Recap: Madison Mcknight Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Monument Academy

There's no place like home for Miami-Yoder, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 40-17 margin over the Monument Academy Lynx on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Buffaloes in their matchups with the Lynx: they've now won three in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Miami-Yoder to victory, but perhaps none more so than Madison McKnight, who posted six points along with 19 rebounds and four steals. Those 19 boards gave McKnight a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Joanna Cabrera, who scored eight points in addition to nine rebounds and five steals.

Miami-Yoder smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 43 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in 21 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Miami-Yoder now has a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Miami-Yoder won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Flagler at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Monument Academy, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Hanover at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
