Volleyball Recap: Independence Comes Up Short

Independence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish.

Independence took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-17, 33-31.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for St. Vincent-St. Mary, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Independence is set to take on their familiar foe Villa Angela-St. Joseph at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, St. Vincent-St. Mary will square off against rival Walsh Jesuit at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
