Basketball Recap: Alexander Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Alexander was the 58-50 winner over Notre Dame when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Alexander Trojans fell 75-68 to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Thursday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (64), the Trojans still had to take the loss.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Notre Dame to victory, but perhaps none more so than TJ Cephus Jr., who went 7 of 12 on his way to 16 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Cephus Jr. a new career-high in steals (five). Evan Fitzpatrick was another key player, going 6 for 12 en route to 17 points.

Alexander's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-2. As for Notre Dame, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Alexander didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-49 victory against Elba on the 29th. As for Notre Dame, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 53-33 defeat against Pembroke on the 27th.
