Basketball Recap: Make It Ten in a Row for John Glenn

John Glenn won against Meadowbrook last Thursday with 83 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The John Glenn Little Muskies blew past the Philo Electrics 83-57. The Little Muskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 23 points or more this season.

John Glenn got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brayden Davis out in front who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 boards. Davis is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Stehl Bates, who went 7 for 9 on his way to 19 points.

When it comes to explaining why Philo lost, don't look at Logan Lyon. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. Rusty Trout was another key player, putting up 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds.

The victory was the tenth in a row for John Glenn, bringing their record for this year to 12-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24.8 points. As for Philo, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

John Glenn will take on New Lexington at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. New Lexington will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something John Glenn surely won't give up without a fight. Philo has already played their next game, a 72-38 victory against Shenandoah on the 18th.
