Basketball Recap: Lyndhurst Golden Bears vs. Leonia Lions

The Lyndhurst Golden Bears won the last time they faced the Leonia Lions, and things went their way on Saturday too. Lyndhurst enjoyed a cozy 58-39 victory over the Lions. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Lyndhurst.

Lyndhurst found their leader in underclassman Brooke Harper, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harper has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Asya Akar, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Lyndhurst is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Leonia, their loss dropped their record down to 18-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lyndhurst will face off against the Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cresskill will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. As for Leonia, they will head out on the road to face off against the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
