Basketball Recap: La Vega Picks Up 12th Straight Win on the Road

La Vega came tearing into Friday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 47-43 victory over the Robinson Rockets. The 47-point effort marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Robinson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evan Moreno, who went 6 of 12 en route to 14 points and three steals. Moreno has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Oren Woodard, who posted six points and five boards.

Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Robinson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-15.
