Softball Recap: Knappa Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Knappa had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on the Naselle Comets with a sharp 19-5 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Loggers also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2023.

Kiya Roe was a standout: she scored five runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Ayla Burnett was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Knappa will take on St. Paul at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Naselle, they will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Oakville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Naselle has now lost eight straight dating back to last season, leaving the team hunting for their first win since May 1.
